During this era of humanity's evolution, a great surge is seen in bio-technology all over the planet Earth. By the middle of this era, many humans have subdermal implants to augment their natural abilities. It's not all fun and games though - the vast majority of implants exist to combat cancer and other diseases, and to reverse the effects of the natural aging process. By the end of the era, more than 6 billion people have some form of augmentation installed in their bodies.
